The Soloist of Many Cakes

I am such the virtuoso soloist
Serenading stars and
Singing to my canine audience

I can be the farthest from a duo
Though I want this home to be
A place where
Two can be
Deep in the woods I live my life sans wedding cake
In my little reverie

Far from ice and snow I bake
Fire in the oven
I like the heat

Sometimes I forget to eat
While singing songs I like to make
Served like a song-cake for my plate

And should the voice of reason stir debate;
“Is the topic worthy of a song?”
I’ll choose the voice that says that “You can have your cake!”,
The one that tells me life is sweetest when you slowly bake
You know freezing weather breaks my mood

Reverie
For my cake
